St. Julian Winery in Paw Paw Michigan is the first winery in the Midwest to be featured on Winestyr.com. Winestyr is a Chicago based internet platform that partners with smaller wineries across the country to promote lesser known wines. On the Winestyr website, consumers can purchase a discounted “gift certificate” good for purchases at the featured winery. For St. Julian, the current promotion is $35 for a gift certificate to purchase wine on the St. Julian website with a value of $60. According to Pooneet Kant, vice president of product development, Winestyr is not a seller or distributor, rather it serves as a discovery mechanism for consumers who are interested in exploring new wines and new wine regions. Winestyr features three wineries each week and provides an overview of the featured winery on its website. Kant said that Winestyr is interested in featuring more Midwest wines in the future.
