Danzinger Wins Big at Wisconsin State Fair

Results have been posted for the Wisconsin State Fair Professional Wine Competition. Danzinger Vineyards in Alma, WI won Best of Show and Best White for two variations of LaCrescent, a University of Minnesota grape introduced in 2002. The vineyard manager at Danzinger is Melvin Danzinger and the winemaker is Ken Salemi.
Best of Show: Danzinger Vineyards Mississippi Mist (100% LaCrescent)
Best of Class Red: River Bend Vineyard & Winery Sunset (80% Concord, 20% Seyval)
Best of Class Blush/Rose: Wollersheim Winery Blushing Rose (93% Seyval, 7% Marechal Foch)
Best of Class White: Danzinger Vineyards Mississippi Mist (100% LaCrescent)
Best of Class Dessert: DNA Vintners Chocolate Paradise (82% Cranberry, 18% raisin wine infused with chocolate)
