Wine & Vines counted wineries recently and the Midwest has four of the top 15 states and provinces in terms of the number of wineries. According to count Midwest Wine Press conducted this spring, Iowa has more than 100 wineries and therefore should be on the Wines and Vines list too. Generally, Wines and Vines tended to undercount Midwestern wineries.
