Tepid Report From Michigan on Recent Crop Damage
Understandably, most grape growers are cautiously optimistic in public about how regional grapes are surviving this winter. However, we have heard decidedly negative news from Ohio, Minnesota and the Finger Lakes.
These reports would lead one to believe that the 2014 Midwest grape harvest has already been seriously damaged.
However, the Traverse City area has been a blessed area for growing grapes, escaping many freezes and frosts. We can only hope this violent tempered winter has left some vineyards untouched.
Good riddance to the Polar Vortex of 2014!
