“Next Gen Wine Drinkers Not Snooty” Chicago Sun Times
The Chicago Sun Times ran a story this week on wine drinking trends in Chicago and the U.S. that has implications for the Midwest wine industry.
According to the article, Moscato was the third highest selling wine variety in the U.S. during 2013.
If you’ve tried one of these “hip” new Moscato wines, you know that the flavor and aroma characteristics are similar to our locally produced Labrusca wines. (The Sun-Times story features Rachel Driver Speckan, one of the most open-minded somms in Chicago. As reported in Midwest Wine Press, City Winery will be producing a Michigan Riesling this year made from Leelanau grapes.)
