Top Seven Stories of 2013

2013 was a very good year for Midwest Wine Press because you, our valued readers, almost doubled the number of pageviews compared to 2012.  On top of that, during the year ending December 21, 2013, a total of 67,742 different people visited Midwest Wine Press.

Ninety-one-percent of Midwest Wine Press readers are from the U.S., but it’s worth noting that many people in other parts of the world are interested in Midwest wine and cool climate grape growing and winemaking.

Two of our top readership states are New York and California, both areas that we don’t cover.  (Makes you wonder if people from New York and California are interested in investing on our regional wine industry?)   Here are the top ten states for Midwest Wine Press readership during 2013:

1. Illinois

2. Michigan

3. Wisconsin

4. Minnesota

5. Ohio

6. Missouri

7. California

8. Indiana

9. Iowa

10. New York

Now, as promised, here are the top seven Midwest Wine Press stories during 2013.  Four of the top seven stories are about “new” wine grapes:

1. Coming Soon: A New Red Wine That’s a Pearl

2. Top 10 Tasting Room Etiquette Tips

3. Dr. Norton Had  a Baby and Named it Crimson Cab

4. Ozonated Water: Pest Control Without Chemicals

5. Promising Wine Grape Varieties for the Midwest

6. Tannin Additions in Red Hybrid Wines

7. Northern Hybrids: A New Class of Grape
