Lake Superior Heating Up Since ’70’s
It’s hard to imagine ever taking a nice, warm dip in Lake Superior, but Gitche Gumee is gradually heating up. According to Michigan State University, surface water temperatures in Lake Superior have risen by 4.5 degrees Fahrenheit since 1979 — much more than average air temperatures in this region.
