Mount Pleasant Estates Dinner on the Deck
Mount Pleasant Winery, the oldest winery in the first American Viticultural Area (AVA) of Augusta, Missouri, was home to a recent Dinner on the Deck.
The event included tastings beforehand, plus a wine tour of both the newer cellar built in the 1990’s and the original 1880’s cellar. (Mount Pleasant Winery founders, brothers George and Frederick Muench, excavated the original cellar by hand.) Due to the cold October night, dinner was held in the Crush Lounge and featured a pear spinach salad, double cut smoked pork chop, red cabbage, and sweet potato gnocchi paired with the Mount Pleasant Winery Claret. Dessert was Pumpkin Cheesecake with cinnamon whipped cream.
Mount Pleasant will feature another Dinner on the Deck event October 13.
