Winning Wines of Northern Michigan Accepting Entries

North Central Michigan College, in collaboration with the Straits Area Grape Growers Association, will celebrate Northern Michigan Wines by hosting the Fourth Annual Winning Wines of Northern Michigan — Wine Tasting & Wine Competition on Wednesday, May 13th. The event will raise awareness of our area wines, our fabulous new wineries and viticulture education.

The college Foundation is hosting the Wine Tasting, bringing many donors and patrons to the event which raises funds for the Student Emergency Fund. All funds raised will help college students who facing financial hardships. This event gives vintners a chance to showcase their best wines to a large and appreciative group.

We invite you to enter your best wines to be judged by sommeliers and wine professionals. Medals will be awarded in numerous wine categories, including best cold hardy American varietals. The judging will take place from 11:30 AM — 3:30 PM on May 13. The Winning Wines will be announced at the Wine Tasting from 5:30 — 7:30 PM on North Central’s beautiful Petoskey campus and mentioned in all post-event promotions.

Please submit your wines to the competition by May 8th, using the entry forms attached.

Wineries are also invited to host a tasting table, display information about your winery and donate door prizes. There is no cost for a table. As a wine-tasting host, your winery will be promoted before, during and after the event. You will also have space to display information about your products at the event. The wine tasting will include food pairing and appetizers from area restaurants, musical entertainment, and a silent auction. What a great way to promote our area wineries and viticulture education! We hope that you will participate
