Joe Ferraro Found Dead Outside Wine Store in Ottawa, Illinois
April 3, 2013
The Ottawa Times reports that Herman Package Store’s co-owner Joe Ferraro was found dead behind the store in Ottawa, Illinois on Wednesday morning. The Times reports that there are not indications of “criminal activity” surrounding Joe’s passing.
Joe was a huge supporter of Midwest wine and Illinois wine, as is his brother Jim. Their store was like a retail version of an Illinois winery. Customers were greated with a smile and the Ferrero brothers took time to speak with everyone.
This is truly a tragic loss. The Illinois wine community has lost a friend and our hearts go out to the extended Ferrero family.
