Marquette Wows Napa Wine Judges
Marquette, the cold-hardy hybrid grape planted across the Midwest, has wowed a panel of Napa wine experts. The California based online wine publication, Appellation America, gathered a panel to taste Marquette wines from 11 wineries in six states. The grape was developed and patented by the University of Minnesota.

In, Marquette: A Grape Worth Getting to Know, Barbara Trigg, sommelier and director of Appellation America, reports that the California tasters were “delighted” by the wines. One panelist went as far as to call Marquette a ‘winemakers wine.”
Wines from Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa were represented. The Marquettes from Carlos Creek Winery and Saint Croix Vineyards, both in Minnesota, were noted as panel favorites.
