Vincent Negret Starting New Winery

The former winemaker at Cannon River Winery is starting his own winery in Hudson, WI, which is on the Mississippi River near St. Paul, MN, according to the Hudson Star Observer.

Midwest Wine Press ran a feature on Vincent back in July of 2013 (Cannon River Shoots for the Stars) and explained why he’s regarded as a leading cold hardy winemaker.  At Cannon River, Vincent made over 20 styles of wine including top quality St. Pepin, Sabrevois and Foch.

While at Cannon River, Vincent had access to the winery’s own vineyard and some of the best grape growers in the area.  It will be interesting to see how Vincent’s new winery enters a seller’s market for cold hardy grapes.
