New Wine Position At University of Wisconsin

The University of Wisconsin has staffed a new “outreach specialist” who will work to support the state’s growing wine and hard cider industry.

‘This person will work closely with the wine and cider producers in the state to improve the quality of their products,” says UW-Madison food science professor Jim Steele, who leads the university’s new Farm to Glass project.

Meanwhile,  Dr, Dean Volenberg, formerly the UW extension manager at the Door County Research Center, is now the Assistant Extension Professor for Viticulture and Winery Operations at the Grape and Wine Institute of the University of Missouri.  Volenberg was instrumental in the growth of Wisconsin Wine Industry and will missed in the Badger State.
