Introducing the 2014 Missouri Governor’s Cup Award-winner — 2012 Cross J Vineyard Norton from Stone Hill Winery

Congratulations, Stone Hill Winery! Not only did this phenomenal wine take home the top award, but it also claimed the honors of C.V. Riley Award for best Norton and the Best of Class Dry Red designation.

The 2014 Missouri Wine Competition, which took place July 15th and 16th, culminated in a new crop of award-winning Missouri wines. Missouri wineries are garnering attention at national and international competitions, but this competition is just for Missouri wineries. During the course of the two-day competition, a panel of nine expert wine judges from around the country and one industry judge from a Missouri winery determined through blind tasting which wines are good, great and the best.

A total of 300 wines were entered this year from 30 different Missouri wineries. The judges named 51 gold medals (the most ever awarded at this competition), 109 silver medals and 88 bronze medals in addition to the top awards of Best of Class, C.V. Riley and the Governor’s Cup.
