Dr. Nichola Hall Speaks at WIsconsin Vintners Association Meeting

Dr. Nichola Hall, technical director and office manager of Scott Lab’s Healdsburg California office, recently made a visit to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Vintners Association, a home winemakers club, hosted a luncheon for her at Mader’s Restaurant. Dr. Hall conducted a lively, four hour, question and answer session for a dozen winemakers. She preached the use of sound winemaking principles making sure close attention is paid to the phases of fermentation, temperature, nitrogen needs, and proper sulfite and sanitation protocols.

Time was also given to certain varietals including hybrids, desirable yeast strains, and new, exciting, products to look for in the 2013 Scott Labs Handbook. Dr. Hall’s visit upholds a tradition set by Scott Labs of supporting Midwest wine initiatives and the amateur winemaker.
