Finger Lakes International Wine Competition Midwest Winners

The Midwest wine industry was well represented in the winner’s circle at the 2013 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition.  Eleven Midwestern wines won Double Gold Medals and 12 Midwestern wineries won Gold Medals at Finger Lakes.

3,500 wines from all 50 states and 20 countries entered this year’s competition. Finger Lakes is  the second largest wine competition in the country.

Top honors for a Midwest winery at Finger Lakes went to Michigan’s Chateau Fontaine for its Semi-Sweet Riesling which won the John Rose Award for Best Riesling.  The Finger Lakes Region of New York is considered one of the best regions in the world for Riesling and Chateau Fontaine’s “Best In Class Riesling Award” is considered the top prize in the Competition.
