Michigan Grape and Wine Conference Photos

The Michigan Grape and Wine Conference took place February 13th to February 15th at the Kellogg Conference Center on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing. Seveneteen presentations were packed into two days, including the Big Ten Banquet keynote speaker Bill Oliver of Oliver Winery in Indiana. Look for upcoming stories on Michigan Conference presentations in Midwest Wine Press including an article on Bill Oliver’s speech and a seminar by Dr. Paolo Sabbatini of Michigan State and Dr. Bruce Bordelon of Purdue on alternative grape varieties for the Midwest.

 

Kaylie Coleman, student at Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, attended the Conference as a guest of Michigan State University.  She is interested in pursuing higher education in enology.

Mark Ganchiff

Mark Ganchiff is the publisher of Midwest Wine Press, the leading source of news on the growing wine industry in the central United States. Mark has been a wine judge at the 2012 and 2014 INDY International Wine Competition, the 2014 Cold Climate Wine Competition, the 2013 Mid-American Wine Competition, the 2012 Illinois State Fair Wine Competition and the 2013 Michigan Wine Competition.
