On July 30th, the Illinois Grape Growers and Vintners Association and the Illinois Stewardship Alliance hosted “Locavores Drink Local” at the Kendall College River Works Campus in Chicago. Illinois varietals were paired with foods created by students and faculty in the Kendall College culinary program. The Kendall College School of Culinary Arts has 12 professional grade commercial kitchens and a Zagat rated and Michelin Guide recommended fine dining restaurant that is open to the public.
In addition to Kendall College, Locavores Drink Local events were also held during 2012 at Rend Lake College in Ina, Illinois, Illinois Central College in East Peoria and Lincoln Land College in Springfield.
