Wisconsin Growing Degree Days Above Normal for ’12

According to the University of Wisconsin, the period from April 1st to June 3rd has been warm in Wisconsin.   At UW’s Sturgeon Bay Research Station, there have been 356 growing degree days (base 50) in ’12 compared with 265 for the same period last year and a five-year average of 341 GDD’s.  At the West Madison Station, the number of GDD’s for ’12 is 581 versus a five-year average of 518.
