Chateau Chantal Releases Sultry Spirit

Distilled from Northern Michigan grapes, the new Chateau Chantal "Cinq a Sept" Brandy has been released at the winery only.   The Brandy was aged five years in French Oak.  According to Chateau Chantal, the name means "five to seven" in French which is a colloquialism for the times of day a Frenchman would visit his mistress,  "perhaps with a gift of brandy in tow." $39.99 for 75oml. … [Read more...]

Old Mission Peninsula Harvest Report

Mark Johnson of Chateau Chantal Winery in Traverse City, Michigan reports mostly good news for local grape growers this year.   "We needed a great crop and we got it this year,"  said Johnson,  VP and Winemaker at Chateau Chantal.All grapes at Johnson's winery been harvested with the Pinot Noir being picked on October 26th.    Johnson said Pinot Noir yields were 5 tons per acre with a 21 brix … [Read more...]
